What does DMO/ODG mean?

A Defence and Management Organisation (DMO/ODG) is a group whose mission is to defend and manage a product with an official Sign of Identification of Quality and Origin .

The DMO can either be a professional union or an association under the French law of 1901 and it must be recognised by the INAO (National Institute of Origin and Quality).

The main goals of the AOC Marsannay DMO/ODG are:

• to protect the interests of the appellation
• to promote the appellation
• to safeguard and develop the specifications of the Marsannay appellation whenever necessary (for example, the recognition of Marsannay Premier Cru status for some of the lieux-dits)
